License, updates, and optional hosted wallet
Your app license lets you keep using Slashspace. Your updates entitlement determines which new releases you can install: one year of updates or lifetime updates. Renewing updates is optional and does not fund AI usage.
The hosted wallet is separate and optional. It pays for the Slashspace provider and separately charged hosted tools, such as scraping and parsing. A license includes $5 of spendable hosted balance. Adding $10 of balance costs $11: $10 stays spendable and $1 is the platform fee.
A zero wallet balance does not end your license or block independent providers. BYOK calls bill your provider account; subscription providers use your connected subscription; local models use your machine. Hosted tools selected during those workflows can still require wallet funds. Hosted image generation uses the wallet unless you enable your own OpenRouter key in provider settings.
Account Information
Settings → Account in the desktop app shows:

Your email address and a truncated Device ID

Your license: whether you own Slashspace, until when you receive updates (or that updates are lifetime), or when your trial ends

Your optional hosted wallet, shown as a dollar value, with an Add funds button

A Devices card showing every registered device using your plan's seats — each row lists the device's name (or ID) and when it was added, with a device count in the header

There's no license key or license type anymore — sign-in is email-based (see Quickstart).
Privacy Settings
Slashspace is opt-in about anything that leaves your machine: "Control how your data is used and shared. We respect your privacy and only enable features with your consent."
Each feature is listed with a description and an Enable/Disable toggle:
- Cloud vector DB — allows your node content to be indexed in the cloud vector database. This is what powers RAG Mode and AI Search; with it disabled, cloud indexing simply doesn't happen.
- Analytics — anonymous usage telemetry that helps improve the app.
Both features stay off until you explicitly enable them. You can disable either at any time from the same toggles.
Managing Your Account
Device Management
Settings → Account shows the Devices card right in the app: each registered device with its name (or shortened ID) and the date it was added, plus a count of how many seats are in use.
To remove a device, click Manage devices on web at the bottom of the card (or visit slashspace.ai/account/plan directly) — deactivation happens on the web, not in the app.

Use cases
- Hosted wallet has insufficient funds: click Add funds next to your hosted wallet or switch to an independent provider (or fix it from the error itself — see Troubleshooting).
- Just upgraded on the web: hit Refresh account so the desktop app picks up your new plan without signing out.
- New laptop: remove the old machine from the Devices list on the web, then sign in on the new one.
- Turning on RAG: enable the cloud vector DB opt-in here before expecting RAG Mode or AI Search to index your nodes.
