Connectors

Connect the services and MCP servers your Agent mode chats can use, and choose which ones are on.

Connectors let the AI in Agent mode reach the tools where your material already lives: email, documents, notes, code. With Gmail, Notion or GitHub connected, a chat on your canvas can pull a thread, a page or an issue straight into the research.

You manage them in Settings, under AI Settings > Connectors. Everything connected there is on in every Agent mode chat unless you switch it off. To browse connectors and their tools first, see the public connectors directory.

Your connections

This tab lists everything you've added or connected. Type in Filter your connections to search, or use the All, Connected and Not connected filters.

Status

The row showsMeaning
A green check and ConnectedReady to use.
ConnectingA sign-in is open in your browser. The row updates when you finish.
An amber warning and ReconnectThe connection failed, expired or was revoked, or a custom connector's last check failed. Wider windows show the reason beside the button.
A key icon and Sign inA custom connector that needs browser sign-in.
ConnectAdded but not connected yet.

The switch

The switch decides whether a connector is offered in chats. Off hides its tools from every chat without disconnecting or deleting anything.

Row actions

The ⋯ button at the end of a row opens its actions:

  • Included connectors (from More connectors): Disconnect removes the connected account. Connect it again from Discover when you need it.
  • Partner and custom connectors: Edit reopens its settings, Check connection tests it again, and Remove deletes it, with its saved headers, after you confirm.

Discover

Find new connectors here, and search them with Search connectors.

  • Aligned Partner: ChatAcademia, featured at the top, gives your chats research tools for finding academic papers, exploring research questions and strengthening your writing. Add connector opens the connector form with its details filled in (Finish setup if you started earlier).
  • Partner connectors: remote MCP servers from partners, marked Partner, when any are listed. Add opens the connector form prefilled.
  • More connectors: a large directory of services such as Gmail, Slack, Notion and Linear, provided through Composio. These are included connectors: Slashspace handles the sign-in and the connection. The list loads 20 at a time; Load more shows the next batch.

Connecting a service

  1. In More connectors, click Connect on the service's row. A sign-in page opens in your browser and the row reads Connecting.
  2. Sign in and approve access. The browser page confirms it and offers Return to Slashspace.
  3. Back in the app, a confirmation such as "Gmail is connected." appears and the service joins Your connections.

Finish within two minutes, or Slashspace drops the attempt and you'll need to connect again.

Included connectors need you to be signed in with an active plan, both to connect and to use in chats. The trial, the yearly subscription and Lifetime all count. Without one, you'll see "Included connectors need an active plan." with See plans. See Plans and billing.

Custom connectors

To connect any MCP server yourself, click Add at the top of the page. The form takes a remote server's URL, or a command that Runs on this computer, and checks the connection before saving; Custom MCP connectors covers every field.

Using connectors in chat

Connectors work in Agent mode chats. To turn one off for a single chat, uncheck it under Connectors in the chat's + Tools menu or the / menu. If a tool call finds a service isn't connected, the chat shows a Connect card whose Open Connectors button takes you to it in Discover. Tool calls and approvals are covered in Agent mode and tools.

Privacy and storage

  • Included connectors: you sign in on a page hosted by Composio, which keeps the account's access, linked to your Slashspace account. The credentials are never stored on your computer, and the connections appear on every computer you sign in on. When a chat uses one, tool calls go from your computer to Composio, which calls the service.
  • Partner and custom connectors are saved on this computer only, and Slashspace talks to the server directly. Header values and sign-in tokens are encrypted with your system's secure storage (the Keychain on macOS). Environment variables for a connector that runs on this computer are saved unencrypted.
  • The AI model receives the tool list, the calls and their results, like the rest of the conversation.
  • Switches are saved per computer.

Only add connectors you trust: their tools can read, change or send data in the service they connect to. See Privacy and your data.

Troubleshooting

  • A row shows Reconnect: click it. An included connector gets a fresh sign-in; a custom connector is checked again, with a sign-in if needed.
  • "The sign-in did not finish in time" or "was not completed": click Connect again and finish in your browser within two minutes.
  • "Enter the headers again": Slashspace couldn't read the saved header values on this computer. Choose Edit from the row's ⋯ menu and retype them.
  • Included connectors are missing: the page shows a note when you're signed out or offline. Custom connectors still show.
  • The AI ignores a connector: check that the chat is in Agent mode, the connector reads Connected, its switch is on, and it's checked in the chat's Connectors menu.
