This Credit & Billing Policy ("Policy") governs the use of credits, billing, and payment-related features within Slashspace, formerly RabbitHoles AI ("Software"), operated by Lokus LLC. This Policy supplements our general Terms of Use.

1. How Slashspace is sold

Slashspace is sold as a perpetual license, not a subscription. Two licenses are available:

Slashspace ($89, one-time): the software is yours to keep, with one year of updates from the date of purchase. Updates can be renewed for another year at any time; an early renewal adds a year to the end of the current updates window.
Slashspace Lifetime ($249, one-time): the software is yours to keep, with every update we ship.

A trial of 3 days starts on first sign-in from the desktop app. No card is required. When the trial ends, AI features that use Slashspace credits stop until a license is bought; your canvases stay open.

Customers who bought a subscription or a lifetime deal under an earlier lineup keep the terms they bought under. Those plans are no longer sold.

2. Credit System Overview

Slashspace uses a credit-based system to meter usage of AI features that run through our hosted providers. 1 credit is 1 cent of usage. Credits are stored as whole units internally.

2.1 Types of Credits

Included Credits: Every license includes 500 credits, granted once when the license is first bought. The trial includes 200 credits. Included credits do not reset and are not granted again on renewal.
Reloaded Credits: Credits you buy in addition to the included ones ("Reloads"). They do not expire and carry over indefinitely.

2.2 Deduction Order

Credits are deducted from your balance as a whole. There is no separate expiring pool.

3. Credit Reloads

3.1 Eligibility

Reloads are available to license owners and to customers on an earlier paid plan. They are not available during the trial.

3.2 Pricing

Reloads are sold at their usage value plus a 10% platform fee added on top of the price, never deducted from the credits. $10 of usage buys 1,000 credits and costs $11. Reloads are sold in $10 steps up to $200 of usage ($220 charged) per purchase. The price is displayed at the time of purchase. We reserve the right to change reload pricing at any time; changes do not affect credits already purchased.

3.3 No Expiration

Reloaded credits do not expire. Once added to your balance, they remain available until used.

3.4 Non-Refundable

Reloaded credits are non-refundable except as required by applicable law. All reload purchases are final.

3.5 Non-Transferable

Credits cannot be transferred between accounts or users.

4. Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

4.1 BYOK Overview

Every license and the trial allow you to connect your own API keys from supported AI providers ("BYOK"). When BYOK is enabled and a valid API key is configured:

AI usage is billed directly to your provider account
Your Slashspace credits are not consumed for those requests

4.2 Your Responsibility

When using BYOK, you are solely responsible for:

Maintaining valid API keys and sufficient provider account balances
Complying with the terms of service of each AI provider
All charges incurred on your provider accounts
Securing your API keys and preventing unauthorized use

4.3 No BYOK Warranty

We make no guarantees regarding:

Compatibility with specific provider features or models
Uninterrupted availability of BYOK functionality
Provider pricing, rate limits, or service terms

If your API key is invalid, expired, or rate-limited, the request fails rather than falling back to your credits unless you choose a hosted model.

5. Usage Metering

5.1 Reservation Model

For AI chat and generation features, we use a reservation-based billing model:

Reservation: Before processing a request, we reserve an estimated amount from your available credits
Processing: Your request is processed by the AI provider
Settlement: After completion, we calculate the actual cost and adjust your balance accordingly, releasing any unused reservation

5.2 Cost Calculation

Usage costs are determined by:

Actual cost reported by the AI provider (when available)
Token-based pricing calculation (as fallback)

Costs are converted to whole credits, rounding up.

5.3 Minimum Balance

A small floor of the balance is held back so a request in flight can always settle. When your balance is at or below that floor, hosted AI requests are refused until you reload.

5.4 Failed Requests

If a request fails or is cancelled before completion, any reserved credits are released back to your balance.

6. Refunds

6.1 License Refunds

A license may be refunded within 7 days of purchase, no questions asked, as set out in our Terms of Use. A refunded license is revoked together with the credits it included.

6.2 Renewal Refunds

A renewal of updates follows the same 7-day window.

6.3 Credit Refunds

Included Credits: Not refundable on their own
Reloaded Credits: Not refundable except as required by applicable law

6.4 Account Termination

Upon account termination:

All remaining credits (included and reloaded) are forfeited
No refunds or payouts will be issued for unused credits

7. Balance Display

Your account page and the desktop app display:

Balance: Credits available for immediate use, shown as dollars of usage
Pending Reservations: Credits currently reserved for in-progress requests

8. Devices

Each license includes 2 devices; the trial includes 1. Additional device slots can be bought by license owners. Devices can be deactivated from the account page.

9. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
